"The New Government Small Business and
General Business Tax Break" What it means to you in plain English!
Plumbers with an annual turnover less then $2m will fall under the category of small business entity and will be entitled for bonus tax deduction. For example, when purchasing equipment valued at $15k you will claim the usual depreciation for the 2009 financial year plus 50% of $15,000 that is $7,500 + $3,000 totalling $10,500! Please note that it is a tax deductible expense not a tax rebate. The equipment must be 100% business related and you can claim the 50% tax allowance when you prepare your business tax return for the year ended 08-09.
